After 20 years of active-duty service, I returned home to the St. Louis metropolitan area for my last duty assignment at Scott AFB, IL with a new husband and 1-year old twins. I retired in 2000 with 4-year-old twins, Jacob & Joanna and 1-year old Janette. I had been in Quality Air Force at Tavis & Scott AFBs & and continued in Quality Management in the private sector for 6 years before finding a new home as a Quality Nurse Consultant at the VA St. Louis Health Care System. I officially retired on September 30, 2025. A new “Grandma” I have more time to spend time with my 2 grandsons, Jack, 23-months & Rory, 2-months here in St Louis with my son and daughter-in -law. Active in my Church, I thoroughly enjoy volunteering, singing in the choir & socializing. During the season, I volunteer at the St. Louis “Fabulous Fox” as an usher. Moreso, I am excited to be able to commit more time now to the Region.
North Central Region
The North Central Region includes 9 states (North & South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin & Illinois). We currently have 77 members with the largest concentration in the Metropolitan St. Louis/Scott AFB, IL area.
(ND – 4, SD – 10, NE – 6, KS – 7, MN – 10, IA – 5, MO – 14, WI – 14, IL – 27)
The Nightingale Chapter Coordinator, Ann Morey, schedules 3 meetings in the O’Fallon/Belleville, IL area each year in March, July & October.
Pam & Dan Rustvang volunteered to take on the Memorial & Outreach roles, respectively
Plans are underway to have a Regional meeting in Wichita, Kansas in the first week of October 2026. Early planning includes a riverfront location with many military & historic sites to explore. Please reach out if you are interested in helping coordinate this reunion.
