Recognition for Carbone, Cadet Nurses

It came 69 years following the close of World War II, but members of the Cadet Nurse Corps, whose accelerated training enabled the nation to station nurses at military installations around the world while still maintaining services in civilian hospitals throughout the war, have finally been recognized by their government for the essential services they provided. It wasn’t the full recognition as veterans that many nurses had hoped for, but Kitty Carbone is proud to display her Certificate of Appreciation awarded last year “for dedicated service to the Cadet Nurse Corps.” For more of this story, click on or type the URL below:
